Services For Employers

What we can offer

BabyLaw can help you path the way to a more family friendly workplace, tailored to your business requirements.  It is, after all, a fact that staff retention leads to greater profits.

Our team of dedicated solicitors can help you every step of the way and help with your transformation into an employer whom everyone wants to work for.

The future is undoubtedly shifting towards making workplaces more flexible so as to give employees that much needed work life balance after starting a family.  In return, you retain invaluable members of staff who add depth and value to your business, whom you might otherwise have lost had they not been afforded a chance to return to work on a flexible basis after starting a family.

Whether you need help in updating your family friendly policies or need help with implementing new laws coming into place which affect your business, especially with regards to the imminent Shared Parental Leave rights, we are here to help you every step of the way.

We work with employers, not for them, to ensure that a fair family-friendly workplace can be achieved.

Settlement Agreements

A Settlement Agreement is legally binding on an employee and employer and sets out agreed terms of settlement.  Once it has been signed pursuant to the relevant legal advice it prohibits an employee from taking what legal action he or she may have otherwise had against the employer. The signing of a Settlement Agreement is usually in exchange for a termination payment, details of which would be included in the contractual terms of settlement. A Settlement Agreement provides certainty between the parties and provides employees with an opportunity for a clean amicable break with their employer.  An employment reference is often negotiated as part of the terms of settlement, which is always helpful when seeking future employment elsewhere.  The terms also usually reflect the agreement between the parties to keep the settlement confidential and not to speak in a derogatory manner about the other.  In return, the employer is given assurance that any legal action which may have been taken against them is thereby waived by reason of binding settlement.

We are experts in family friendly rights at work.  We have the skills and expertise to support you in developing a balanced family friendly workplace.  We can help you remain compliant with ever-changing family friendly employment legislation

Training & Consultancy

We are able to provide and deliver bespoke training to employers who wish to move towards a family friendly workplace.  We can provide tailored packages to suit your business requirements, so as to ensure you are kept fully up to date with employment law developments affecting your business and its employees from a family friendly perspective.

The Shared Parental Leave Regulations are now in force applying to any employees whose babies are due to be born on or after 5th April 2015.  We can provide you with tailored policies and bespoke training to ensure you remain compliant with these important changes.

We can also help with auditing your current family friendly policies and procedures and help you get the most out of them.  We can tailor and update any such policies and identify any training which your business may benefit from so as to ensure you remain compliant with legislative requirements.  This, in turn, reduces your exposure to potential claims being brought against you for non-compliance by your employees which can be time consuming and costly for any business.

Such workshops and training can be delivered at your premises for your convenience.
